A Gala in a Day - What Happens Behind the Scenes
As a guest at an event there is SO much you don’t see! I recently produced Wurth Australia’s annual awards event at Crown for the 12th time. An event like this has many moving parts and planning begins months in advance. I, along with my trusted team, work closely with the client on every aspect of the event, from creative development to event delivery.
What the guests don’t see are the staff setting tables early in the morning, security ensuring our deliveries get into the venue, the AV team & Technical Director ensuring presentations are seamless, the performers rehearsing and sound checking, and the speakers honing their presentations. There is also the monumental amount of work that occurs with guest lists, dietaries, travel and accommodation organisation and internally managing on top of their ‘day jobs’.
My passion is twofold: to truly become part of my client’s team, and to deliver memorable events which surprise and delight guests. This awards night is no exception, with new concepts, new acts, new photo props every year. New and original is always my focus, made easier by a client who has even more big ideas.
Wurth Australia’s awards night showcases all I have to offer: creative, production, capture, AV direction, presentation coaching, screen content creation and so much more. Months of planning and collaboration with our fabulous client to deliver something spectacular.
A key ingredient of this event is the way that the staff are all recognised for their achievements and pride within the company. This is exemplified by the leadership and commitment of handing out every award by Serge Oppedisano, Senior Vice President of the Wurth Group, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Wurth Australia
Of course, I could not deliver fabulous events like these without the exceptional support of the venue crew and my broader team. Particular thanks to the teams at Crown, Encore, Andrew Hobbs Photography, and Elise Elliot who MCed, and my excellent team of gifted event staff.
Thank you to Serge Oppedisano, Kate Janesse, and Scott Watkins at Wurth for this ongoing opportunity.
